TELEPHONE HUDSON 3 6126 Manufacturing Chemists’ Association, Inc (FOUNDED 1872) 1825 Connecticut Avenue, N. W, Washington, D. C. 20009 February 28, 19&7 TO: Members of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Chemicals Committee SUBJECT: Request for Data on Indirect Food Additives Gentlemen: At the January 25 meeting, the FDCC Committee heard Dr. Robert Miller's presentation covering Dr. J. P. Frawley's proposal regarding Indirect Food Additives. Because of the potential benefit to the chemical industry, it was decided to request the secretary to obtain from MCA member companies data that will help establish or disprove the validity * of the proposal. So I am enclosing a copy of Dr. Frawley's ACS paper which will explain what data is required, and ask that you obtain it from the appropriate sources within your company and send it in to me soon, so that there will be an opportunity to summarize before the next meeting of the committee on June 13. It is most important to have your data, because the decision about an MCA 3tand with respect to the proposal will rest largely on it. Sincerely yours Morgan M. Hoover MMH:sjg Enclosure ASI 00002176
